About

The purpose of this site is for my (generally spoiler-free) commentary on fiction that I encounter and making recommendations to those interested in the genre. While I am a fairly seasoned sci-fi fan, I attempt to cater to fans of all kinds; the die-hards and the newbies.

Sci-fi movies that shaped my childhood, chronologically:

  1. King Kong – 1933
  2. Original Star Wars trilogy – 1977-83
  3. E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial – 1982
  4. Terminator 2: Judgment Day – 1991
  5. Jurassic Park – 1993

Reading and watching movies have always been passions of mine. As I’m sure is the case with countless others, my passion for science fiction probably traces back to the first time I saw Star Wars. Also like others, dinosaurs were my childhood obsession (predating my sports obsession), so naturally, Jurassic Park was also vital to my formative years.

Writing about science fiction (among other things) has become an important and fulfilling hobby of mine. I love the discussion that comes with experiencing a stirring story. Fiction of the speculative and scientific kind continues to deliver these stirring experiences for me, whether I’m consuming modern works or uncovering pieces from before my time that have thus far eluded me.
